Crispy Mini Pizza Bagels

A quick and easy snack featuring mini bagels topped with mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce, baked to a perfect crispy and gooey balance.

Ingredients

  • Mini bagels (plain or everything)
  • Fresh whole milk mozzarella slices or shredded mozzarella
  • Pepperoni slices (regular thickness)
  • Pizza sauce (store-bought marinara or pizza sauce)
  • Olive oil (for brushing)
  • Dried oregano (optional)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the mini bagels in half horizontally if not pre-sliced. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Lightly brush each bagel half with olive oil to prevent sogginess.
  4. Toast the bagels in the oven for about 5 minutes until edges are golden and firm.
  5. Remove the bagels from the oven and spread about 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of pizza sauce onto each half.
  6. Place one or two slices of fresh mozzarella or a small handful of shredded cheese over the sauce.
  7. Arrange 3-4 pepperoni slices per bagel half.
  8. Optionally sprinkle a pinch of dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes on top.
  9. Bake again for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pepperoni edges are crisp.
  10. Let cool for a minute or two before serving.

Notes

Toast bagels first to prevent sogginess. Use fresh mozzarella for creamier melt and less oiliness. Use a thin layer of sauce to avoid soggy bottoms. Watch bake time closely to prevent burning. Optional quick broil for extra crispness. Let cool slightly before serving for easier handling. Air fryer can be used at 375°F for 5-7 minutes but watch carefully.
