A simple, natural electrolyte drink made with pink Himalayan salt, fresh lemon juice, and honey for quick hydration and replenishment after exercise or hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) cold filtered water
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 grams) pink Himalayan salt
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 12 lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey
  • Optional: a few sprigs fresh mint leaves
  • Optional: substitute up to 1 cup (240 ml) water with coconut water

Instructions

  1. Roll lemons firmly on the counter to loosen juice. Cut in half and juice approximately 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds if needed.
  2. Pour 4 cups (960 ml) cold filtered water into a pitcher or jar. Add the fresh lemon juice.
  3. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 grams) pink Himalayan salt and 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey. Mix thoroughly with a whisk or spoon until salt and honey dissolve completely.
  4. If using, lightly crush fresh mint leaves and add to the mixture. Optionally, substitute 1 cup (240 ml) of water with coconut water for extra electrolytes.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and chill the drink.
  6. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with a lemon slice or mint sprig if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature water initially to help dissolve honey and salt faster before chilling. Fresh lemon juice is best for flavor. Adjust sweetness and saltiness to taste. Stir well to avoid gritty salt residue. Store in refrigerator up to 3 days and stir before serving due to settling.
