A quick and easy frozen strawberry basil lemonade slushie that blends fresh flavors and icy refreshment, perfect for hot summer days and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 810 large fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lemonade
  • 2 cups (about 300 grams) crushed ice
  • 12 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries under cold water, then hull and slice them into halves or quarters for easier blending.
  2. Rinse the basil leaves gently to remove any dirt and pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Place the sliced strawberries, basil leaves, lemonade, and crushed ice into the blender jar.
  4. Add honey or agave syrup if additional sweetness is desired.
  5. Pulse the blender a few times to break up the ice, then blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy. Scrape down the sides if needed.
  6. Taste and adjust by adding fresh lemon juice for tartness, more lemonade if too thick, or more ice if too thin. Blend briefly again if adjustments are made.
  7. Pour the slushie into chilled glasses and garnish with a basil leaf or strawberry slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use crushed ice for smoother blending. Avoid over-blending to prevent watery texture. Fresh ingredients yield best flavor. Frozen strawberries can be used by reducing ice to 1 cup. For vegan or refined sugar-free versions, substitute honey with agave or maple syrup. Garnish with basil or strawberry for presentation. Leftover mixture can be frozen and re-blended with lemonade before serving.
