A quick and easy refreshing summer drink combining juicy watermelon, fresh mint, and zesty lime for a naturally sweet and tangy flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) seedless watermelon chunks, chilled
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • Juice of 2 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons or 45 ml)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold water
  • 12 tablespoons (12-24g) sugar or honey (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the seedless watermelon into chunks, about 4 cups (600g). Chill if possible.
  2. Place watermelon chunks into a blender. Add 2 cups (480 ml) cold water and blend on high for about 1 minute until liquid and bright pink.
  3. Optional: Pour blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove pulp and seeds, pressing gently to extract juice.
  4. Add juice from 2 medium limes and bruised mint leaves to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Add 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey if desired. Stir until dissolved and adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or pour over glasses filled with ice. Garnish with mint sprigs or lime slices and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best flavor. Straining is optional depending on texture preference. Bruise mint leaves gently to release oils without bitterness. Sweetener is optional based on watermelon sweetness. Add a pinch of salt if the drink tastes flat. Serve immediately for freshest taste. Store leftovers in refrigerator up to 2 days and stir before serving.
