A refreshing and simple summer drink combining sweet watermelon, tangy lime, and fresh mint. Perfect for cooling off on hot days with a bright, playful twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups cubed fresh watermelon (seedless if possible)
  • Juice of 2 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves, gently muddled
  • 2 cups cold water (480 ml)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or honey (optional)
  • Ice cubes, as needed for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut about 6 cups (roughly 900 grams) of watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds if present.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes in a blender or food processor. Add 2 cups (480 ml) of cold water. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until smooth and vibrant pink.
  3. Optional: Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove pulp, pressing gently to extract juice.
  4. Add 10–12 fresh mint leaves to the pitcher and gently muddle with a wooden muddler or back of a spoon to release aroma without bitterness.
  5. Squeeze the juice of 2 medium limes (about 3 tablespoons) into the pitcher. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar or honey, depending on taste, and stir until dissolved.
  6. Stir well and chill the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
  7. Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses, garnished with a mint sprig or lime wheel if desired.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best sweetness and flavor. Gently muddle mint to avoid bitterness. Fresh lime juice is preferred over bottled for brightness. Adjust sweetness based on watermelon ripeness. For a fizzy twist, add sparkling water before serving. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 days and stir before serving.
