These crispy garlic Parmesan wings are an easy, flavorful game day snack made in the air fryer for a golden, crunchy bite without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt (kosher salt recommended)
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (about 50 grams), preferably Parmigiano-Reggiano
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat 2 pounds of chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss wings with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air fry wings at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through (around 10-12 minutes) to ensure even browning and crispiness.
  6. While wings cook, mix ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning in a large bowl.
  7. When wings are done, immediately toss them in the Parmesan mixture while still hot to create a garlicky crust.
  8. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the wings and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pat wings dry thoroughly before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid steaming. Toss wings in Parmesan cheese after cooking to prevent burning. If wings are not crispy enough, air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes while watching closely. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) for safe eating. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to regain crispiness.
