A decadent dessert combining the comforting flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with a gooey center and crisp edges, perfect for celebrations or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or peanut butter chips (optional)
  • Chopped peanuts for crunch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until well blended, then press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the peanut butter and mix until fully combined. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until the filling is creamy and well blended.
  4. Pour the peanut butter filling over the cake base, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle chocolate chips or chopped peanuts on top if desired.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will remain slightly gooey.
  6. Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve slightly warm for the ultimate gooey experience.
